The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Preview Arrives, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo alongside Illumination shared the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. It was showcased in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that focused exclusively on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
Following up on the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will send Mario to the outer limits of the cosmos. There, he will encounter a fresh princess character and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Classic Games
In the vein of the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will depart from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. On his epic voyage, he will meet again some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a breakout star from the original cinematic release.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Notably, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Returns and Expands
The movie will welcome back of the original voice cast, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
A Significant Period for Mario
The upcoming Mario film is scheduled to arrive near the 40th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his companions.
The company has a trio of new releases publicly declared for the upcoming year, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
